I run workshops that are less about making “perfect” art and more about actually enjoying the process.
My work has always been about society, thoughts, scribbles, overthinking, and writing things you probably shouldn’t say out loud and the workshops follow the same idea. A big part of that is using art as a form of what I like to call, self art therapy, a way to process thoughts, explore mental health, and get things out of your head and onto the page without judgement.
Expect drawing, words, experimentation, and the occasional moment where you accidentally make something you’re really proud of. Along the way, we tap into creativity as a tool for reflection, release, and making sense of things that don’t always have neat answers.
There’s no pressure to be “good”. In fact, that usually gets in the way.
Workshops are hands on, loose, and built around getting people to stop overthinking, start making, and embrace the slightly chaotic nature of creativity while also creating space for honest expression and mental wellbeing.
I work with a range of groups including:
Primary Schools
Secondary Schools
Colleges & Universities
Public events, galleries, and creative programmes
Each session is adapted depending on the group, but can include expressive drawing exercises, combining text and image, character and portrait work, collaborative pieces, and generally making a bit of a mess (in a productive way). Sessions often incorporate elements of self art therapy, encouraging people to explore emotions, identity, and personal experiences through creative practice.
Whether it’s introducing students to creative thinking or getting a room full of adults to loosen up and pick up a pen again, the aim is the same, make something honest, not perfect.
If you’d like to book a workshop, get in touch.
